Reasonable Or Just A Trick?

The above prices do not include travel or health insurance and tip for guide and porters.

A profit margin for the operator as a handling fee are vary between 10-20% to be added from the above figure prices.

The above price applies to private groups (not sharing). The more people joining in your group, the price will be cheaper.

It is really important that you chose the right trekking company as safety is extremely critical for trekking to a mountain like Rinjani

To ensure safety and comfort, it is recommended that the handling ratio: 1 guest is handled by 1 guide + 1 porter, if 2 guests should be handled by 1 guide + 2 porters. 1 mountain guide can handle up to 5 people (max).

The above prices are calculated by professionals based on current market prices for your consideration to prepare the best possible trip.

If you still find a much cheaper price offered on the web compared to the price details above, then at least you can use your logic to analyze whether what is offered is reasonable or just a trick.

Each operator / travel company has a different price and of course different services. Low prices will not guarantee that you will get good service.

As a result of unfair competition, most local operators violate human rights and regulations by suppressing the number of porters and forcing them to carry more than their carrying capacity. They do this because they pursue profit and prestige, sacrificing their porters as a consequence of the low prices they offer to their partners and only that way they can cover costs.

The slide photo below shows how the porters work to transport goods while on the mountain, set up tents, then cook and prepare food, fruit and snacks for you. Each porter must carry 20-25 kilos (max), due to the difficulty level during the trip.

With these additional notes, we hope that visitors can be wiser in choosing trekking operators and the prices offered. Choose a price that makes sense according to logic, not the cheapest.
