Trekking Itinerary


Upon your booking is confirmed and you provide us with your arrival details including flight number, boat embarkation time or hotel, then we will send our car to pick you up and transfer you to Senaru. Check in at one of the pre-booked accommodation, meet your guide and porters, get some briefing about the mountain including what do's and what dont's, and if you arrive in Senaru before dark, you will be able to visit the waterfalls.


SENARU > POS 1 > POS 2 > POS 3 > CRATER RIM (2,641 MASL)

Pick up at your hotel in Senaru (601masl), register at Rinjani Trek Centre (RTC), then start the trek through thick tropical forest rich in flora, bird life and variety of butterflies. The first 30 minutes walking, you are in the open views with green coffee plantation, bamboos, and a variety of mix plantations that grows by local for living...

After another 30 minutes walk, you'll reach the gate of Tropical Rain Forest (Jebak gawah), short break for 10-15 minutes then proceed to walk through the jungle/rain forest under the big trees where you are completely protected from the direct sunshine. Temperature is humid, and you will see some monkeys play around on the trees. Rest stops are taken along the way. Lunch served at Pos 2 Montong Satas shelter (1,500masl). You'll have time to re-charge your energy, while our guide and porters prepare lunch for you. After lunch continue walk up another 2 hours to pos 3 Mondokon Lolak (2,000masl), take some rest here than on to another couple of hours through grassy meadows to Plawangan 1 Senaru crater rim at 2,641m. Enjoy the views across the Lake Segara Anak to the summit of Mt. Rinjani and crater Gunung Baru Jari (2,351m). On a clear evening the Gili Isles, Bali and Mt. Agung can be seen to the west. Reach the Crater rim around 4 or 5 pm, set up the tent and enjoy the views around. Dinner served at the campsite. 


DAY 3: 


Sunrise at the crater rim is a memorable to Day 2. Enjoy the morning view of Senaru Crater rim. Leave the crater rim after breakfast, descend the trail down to Senaru village through first grassland then back into the shade of the tropical forest. Lunch served en route. The trek ends at Rinjani Trek Centre at the road head in Senaru where the car is waiting to transfer you back to Senggigi, gili island or airport.

This gentle trek is good for beginners, or family with children (minimum 10 years old). Tour can leave any days except weather condition does not permitted or park closed by the National Park Authority due to unforseen circumstances.
